This is so sad, one of my favourite podcasts. Hope you keep podcasting independently @robinince.bsky.social and thankyou for being an ally for all the different communities you speak up for.
Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

The thing is that achieving mental *health* for the majority of people requires us all realising that we're being made sick by our societies. Psychotherapy isn't funded because it foments revolution when done well. CBT teaches you to shut up and stop bothering the grown-ups.
The TLDR of the Streeting review is your quality of life doesn't matter so long as you are contributing to the economy and employment stats - which will exacerbate most MH conditions and increase suicide rates, which they don't care about either because the economy, stupid.

This is the essence of reporting "science" versus public health: stop putting people off discovering the joy of moving their bodies and being out in common space by telling them they're not optimising. Report science better, report joy more.
