THREAD.

My parents' cat Bridget vanished. As the weeks dragged on they became ever more worried, so to distract himself my dad began to paint Bridget's adventures, imagining her travelling through time and popping up at some of art & music's most important moments.

I've collected his work here...

I just watched this last night. Really fun. If you have ever seen 'the play that goes wrong' or as a cast/crew member of any stage/screen production of things that can happen when performing, it's a delight.

I have this exact interpretation of A Christmas Carol.

Scrooge isn't a criminal.
He isn't a liar or a thief.

But he is thoroughly miserable due to his ruthless moral code.

This is why it's a literary masterpiece & why it's still so relevant to human society today as it was in the 19th century

On this day in 1843 A Christmas Carol by Dickens, published for first time.
“I will honor Christmas in my heart, & try to keep it all the year. I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future. The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me. I will not shut out the lessons that they teach.”

We spoke to a dozen professional concept artists who are currently or have previously worked in game development about whether generative AI image tools have made their jobs any easier.

Zero said it did. Most said it made things harder.

“The ‘early ideation stages’, when worlds are being fleshed out by writers and artists, are literally crucial to the development of a game’s vision,” said one artist.

This reminds me of the plot of Spirited (a Christmas Carol Adaptation), although Ryan Reynolds character is hired to promote the sales of real Christmas trees by telling people that you're unAmerican and anti Christmas if you don't own a real tree.

📚👍 It's spellbinding. It's tragic. Its driving narrative & end-of-chapter hooks made turning out the light hard. Who knew that an 1800s volcano and Frankenstein are not only related but a warning for our time? Climate change, folks. It's not a hoax. #STEM #kidlit @randomhousekids.bsky.social
