this is true of every public transport in every city. the amount of people who have tried to tell me horror stories about the birmingham bus system and i'm like. i ride this every day. sure there are sometimes issues but that is just part of Being In Public. the main issue is that it should be free
if you're not from or have never been to new york i cannot stress enough how normal the subway is 99% of the time. kids take it to school. everyone is basically chill. you learn to be in proximity with harmless weirdos or minor irritations pretty quick. for all its issues it's an incredible thing
