He's already made a statement, but of course it's not really being broadcast, and the clip has doubtless been heavily edited by Sky.

Yes, because that would be the mature thing to do, but also the less macho exciting thing and therefore he’s going to be criticized.

I could be wrong, but I expect that Keir Starmer is currently coordinating a response alongside his allies in Europe. If I know anything, it will likely be in the form of a collective statement, signed by multiple parties.

For all Keir Starmer's domestic faults, I feel better knowing he is the PM dealing with international matters at the moment. One wrong move could lead to further disaster, but Starmer is a steady hand when it comes to dealing with situations across the globe.

I think for all of the criticisms of Starmer, by far the stupidest one over the last 18 months has been that he has spent too much time out of the country doing foreign policy.

Hi @lucympowell.bsky.social many MPs in the LP are calling for the Government to leave X and for robust action to be taken in light of Grok creating child abuse images. Could you put pressure on the cabinet to deal with this issue before it is too late and set the example by boycotting X? Thanks.

Wind, solar and other renewables hit a new high last year but the government is still some way off its clean power target.

Now that’s journalism!! Just illustrates the Guardian can do it if it tries!
What do 2009 and 2025 have in common?

2025 was the best year for the FTSE 100 since 2009.

2025 was also the first FULL year under a Labour government since 2009.

Coincidence? Maybe. But it's not as if it's the only data point showing improving trends now we have a Labour government again.

The Government getting off X should be a priority in addition to regulating it to the hilt. Liz Kendall being the SoS for S&T has the power to do this, and do it she must.

Families to have better access to child vaccinations!

Our Labour government is launching a new £2m pilot where health visitors will offer vaccines to families who face barriers via standard routes - in their homes.

It will ensure more children are protected from serious & preventable illnesses.

What's happening in Parliament this week?

The Renter's Rights Bill, well into the ping-pong stage, is back in Commons to consider Lords amendments again. Could this be the last, before Royal Assent?

The Planning & Infrastructure Bill is at committee in the Lords, with the gov. Planning amendments.
