Hello to all human beings in the Bluesky cosmos. I heard it's pleasant vibes over here. I like to yell good morning off my front porch to my neighbors so maybe I will holler at you sometimes. No interest in hate and disinformation though sorry to say, though beauty and creation do interest me. -III

Outraged by Jan 6, he spent two years getting inside the top ranks of militias like the Oath Keepers. He was stunningly successful. He penetrated a new generation of militia leaders, which included doctors, cops & government attorneys.

This is his story. www.propublica.org/article/ap3-...

For context: I work at a 501c3 nonprofit. We sued the Trump admin to block his rollbacks of environmental rules on average once per week from 2017-2020. We won 90% of those cases. This is why they want to stop us

Correct.

Trump promised to install tariffs. If he does, it'll be a disaster.

But if he doesn't, he'll try to claim credit for what the economy is doing under the Biden policies that he *specifically said would bring us a Depression.*
This is absolutely the case. Also, he will take credit for many of the actually impressive economic realities that Biden made happen. All of that infrastructure investment, many of which is just now starting to flow, which the GOP sought to block? Trump will take credit.

Don't let him.

as long as journalists and pundits act as if they are amateur political strategists & not people trying to understand and tell the truth about the world, they are going to take the implicit view that voters can never be wrong, which then demands endless explanation of their morally blameless choice

My sense from some of the anecdata coming in is that a lot of people who voted for Trump either didn't understand the stakes of the election or didn't really think there were stakes in the first place, and they're going to be in for a nasty shock.
Awful: Trump allies are already saying mass deportations will begin on Day One and hinting persecution of enemies/purging of govt will begin immediately.

Trump openly advertised authoritarian rule. Did voters choose it knowingly?

so far the only explanation i've seen that doesn't smack of "if only she'd listen to me she would have won" is "global discontent with incumbents because of inflation and post-pandemic malaise + toxic information environments"

Within 3 months, perceptions of the economy will go from bad to good, and consumer confidence will soar, despite no economic changes.
Millions who said their finances are bad will say it’s good, and will even if tariffs raise prices.
Pundits will still say these Americans voted based on the economy.
