The bald cypress is a pneumatophore, with roots growing just below the surface then protruding ⬆️ (believed to help the tree breathe). The tree’s “knees” don’t always look this spooky, but what a shot 📸 🧪

4. But while #flu is sickening more people, #Covid continues to make more people sicker. As these two charts show, more people are being hospitalized for Covid (right) & while Covid death rates are a fraction of what they were 2-3 years ago, Covid still kills a lot more people than flu (left).
