I'm still boggled at the number of people who never learned about the founding of the NSDAP or how deliberate their choice of name was.

Today I have the tight chest feeling of incipient panic, which means i'm prolly building to a meltdown. I need to go speak to my upstairs neighbours, try to de-escalate the noise situation a bit, but i'm really not sure I can communicate well enough to get them to understand.

NEW | On the latest story about students (and sex):

THE KINK IN THE TIMES’ POSITION ON UNIVERSITIES AND FREE SPEECH

Why is a national newspaper obsessing about student societies and quoting extreme pressure groups? I think we all know the answer...

Quick question, do you take your boyfriend/husband/brother with you on a girls night out? it's unfair not to, right?

Funny how "if you don't like it, just leave" suddenly doesn't apply to the UK.
leilashafiqmog.bsky.social
I wish I could believe that. I really do. Unfortunately, the track record of this government suggests otherwise.

I'm old enough to remember when he came to power and vowed to put country before party - now we know which country he meant.

In breach of international law.

Well so much for Brittania rules the waves.

Under Starmer it's Brittania waives the rules (for their donors of course).

Still he's succeeded in his main aim. No way will I, nor many other life long Labour voters, vote for them under Starmer or any of his cabinet

No, he'll be offering bonuses to "border control officers" for rounding up the most immigrants (i.e people with brown skin.)

I read the above comment as meaning that their hatred of disabled people and wish for us to die is the primary motivator. Our lack of earning potential is the excuse, not the cause.
leilashafiqmog.bsky.social
Well, of course not. They don't see Muslims as people, so there's no reason for them to care. They'd show more compassion and concern for dogs than they would for us.

Oof, that's a lot! I hate that crash after a period of Do All The Things.

If it's only a little green tea you might not get much relief. Weak coffee might help some though. I totally get you on the lying down. Moving is far more effort than it's worth at times.

Needed this. Paying it forward:
Two orange kittens are snuggled on a bed; one in the foreground is curled up snoozing, and the one behind her is looking curiously toward the camera

Maybe if i was an ai, the bsky team would care about me

Are you going cold turkey? A cup of strong black tea might reduce the caffeine withdrawal headache, if that's an option for
you.

The populace are already convinced. We are being overruled by big piles of money.

Thing is, that's what the Scottish Greens have been doing.

I'm awake! Hoping to head down to cheer you on!

Would if we could. Unfortunately, Westminster has to permit a referendum. They refuse to allow it, at least in part because they're not sure they'd win.

I'm not so sure that it's as easy as talking to the press. The UK media sphere has been, almost totally, captured by anti-trans interests. There is no way the Scottish Gov't would get a fair reading imo.

Dramatic to say, but the entire legal and state apparatus of the UK is increasingly obviously turning against trans people; and on top of that, the Supreme Court clearly has complete contempt for devolution and seems particularly inclined to rule against SG even where it's absurd (UNCRC) to do so

What I hear from multiple sources in the Scottish Government is that it feels defeated by the limitless spending power of the transphobes who, of course, are explicitly or implicitly underwritten by JK Rowling's vast fortune.

What do you think why the Scottish Government has been targeted, such as Darlington nurses, NHS Fife?
Has Scotland really devolved? Was the Scottish Government allowed to implement its self identity legistlation or blocked by the former government? Devolution in the UK is a joke.
