Tonight — thanks to all of YOU — House Democrats did something many thought impossible.

We forced the Republican-controlled House to vote on extending healthcare tax credits for working families.

And it PASSED.

The Senate must now do the same.

Reminder: Plato argued that, since souls reincarnate, souls in men & women are the same & equally capable of all things, so the sexes are equal.

P’s mother Perictione was (ancient sources say) a Pythagorean philosopher.

19th C didn’t believe she could be a philosopher so erased her from P’s bio.

When we say "no, everything hasn't been digitized," I need you to understand that we really mean is that virtually nothing has been digitized. This is because the realm of primary sources that historians use is incomprehensibly large.

I'm obsessed with recycling and keeping as much out of the landfill as possible. The pommel is an old sewing pin, and the handguard is made from the little aluminum spout from an empty Morton's Salt container. The sheath is plastic straws. That's so much for fun than messing w the printer all day.

BREAKING: This is huge news, the EU's equivalent of the 🇺🇸Supreme Court's 2015 Obergefell v. Hodges ruling.

🇪🇺Court of Justice just ruled all 🇪🇺countries must recognise same-sex marriages granted in other member states.

This effectively legalises gay marriage across 🇪🇺

This Day in Labor History: November 22, 1909. Approximately 20,000 garment workers in New York City went on strike against the horrendous conditions of their sweatshops. This strike, known as the Uprising of the 20,000, was the largest strike led by women in American history to that time!!!

The Starbucks that was on my morning commute closed during the recent location purge and I immediately assumed that since I was pretty sure not all locations were unionized that Starbucks was prioritizing locations that were because everyone said that place was busy all the time.

Support workers.
UNIONIZED STARBUCKS WORKERS ARE ON STRIKE AS OF THIS MORNING @sbworkersunited.org

Don't cross the picket line
🚨 New @therealnews.com

"We're done": Starbucks workers across prepare for indefinite national strike that will begin TOMORROW if Starbucks doesn't make serious movement at the bargaining table.

I spoke w/ Michelle Eisen of @sbworkersunited.org about the strike

Durbin might be retiring but the primary will hopefully have multiple options so voters can look at who is the best choice to replace him
2. Chris Coons. This guy sucks! This guy has always sucked! Wanted to go home for valentine's day rather than call witnesses after J6. Delaware is incredibly safe and deserves better. Easy primary.

3. Dick Durbin. Retiring. Still want to primary him just out of general principle.

To be clear, this deal still needs to go through a debate and amendment process and more 60-vote thresholds to pass the Senate, and then it must pass the House. There's still room for constituent pressure.

Garlic chickpeas! Rinse and drain can(s) of chickpeas, mix with olive oil and crushed/minced garlic (powder also fine), salt and pepper to taste. Eat cold, microwave, pan fry, or roast in oven, whatever. You can also add other spices like cumin or chilies if you want but just garlic is great
