Call me a mad alien with a Ceefax fetish but I don’t think you should be allowed to drastically change the justice system without asking voters in advance. Starmer and Lammy, if you think this is so important you need to call an election and make your case. I’m free in January.

Absolutely a First World Problem, but I've gotta say that after leaving UK waters in September & being in the Mediterranean ever since, this weather & lack of daylight is quite a shock to the system.

I was going to do a very important comparison between a UK KitKat and a Norwegian Kvikk Lunsj earlier today, until I realised the KitKat was noticeably thinner/lighter in hand AND the Kvikk Lunsj has birds embossed on each finger.

The Norwegians win this one.

Slightly nerdy question inspired by this view, but I know Bluesky can probably help me out; Anyone know when Gibraltar last had quite so much grey tonnage alongside?

We just sailed past an active volcano, and whilst I was watching the minor eruptions I saw a small meteor shower.

My job's pretty cool sometimes.

Our Service of Remembrance today had a rather atmospheric backdrop of lightning and water spouts on the horizon.

The rain stopping & the sun breaking through at the first note of The Last Post felt fitting though.

The Galley have gone rogue & decided we're having Swordfish & Baby New Potatoes for lunch, rather than the traditional Fish & Chips.

Seemingly endless laps of the deck just to get a 5km run in is made slightly easier when this is the view:
An evening sky taken at sea. The top part of the sky is still a bright blue, but the part closest to the horizon is golden orange. The division between the two colours is marked by a clump of stratus cloud, which is also obscuring the setting sun (still about a diameter & a half above the horizon). The ship's wake is visible in the water, with a fairly distinct dink in it. I left the OOW with a straight line to follow, so I'll be asking what happened when I get back to the Bridge.

I'm literally just drawing lines on a computer screen, & the Officers of the Watch follow them until we get there? Weird.
