Expiring ACA tax credits will hit small businesses especially hard. Meanwhile, 74% of small business owners are worried that their business won’t survive due to Trump’s tariffs.

Trump is crushing small businesses while doling out tax breaks to his big corporate donors.

Priorities.

Department of Defense Law of War Manual, Sec. 18.3.2.1 states the "requirement" to refuse illegal orders.

What’s its key example? Wait for it . . . It’s "orders to fire upon the shipwrecked."

"The requirement to refuse to comply with orders to commit law of war violations applies to orders to perform conduct that is clearly illegal or orders that the subordinate knows, in fact, are illegal. For example, orders to fire upon the shipwrecked would be clearly illegal."

(3,3) My question for everyone who is looking into the National Guard shooting is simple. How did the killer get his guns and what is your plan to stop future killers (American citizens or not) from acquiring weapons in a country that currently makes that easy?

Trump: I'm going to pardon massive drug kingpin Juan Orlando Hernández, bc I don't think former leaders should be held accountable for their crimes.

Also Trump: But I'm going to make thinly sourced claims that Maduro is a drug kingpin so I can rationalize an illegal war based on that claim.

This is all true but

1) under no definition are we currently at war with Venezuela under domestic US law

2) since we aren’t, the initial strike was just as much a murder as the follow up

The failure to understand this by a huge range of actors is really driving me up the wall.
If the Venezuelan sailors were enemy combatants, then the 2nd strike is a war crime.

If the Venezuelan sailors weren’t enemy combatants, then both strikes are criminal murder.

It’s that simple.

This explains so much of what we are seeing.
After years of struggling to find enough workers for some of the nation’s toughest lockups, the Federal Bureau of Prisons is facing a new challenge: Corrections officers are jumping ship for more lucrative jobs at ICE.

As Federal Prisons Run Low on Food and Toilet Paper, Corrections Officers Leave in Droves for ICE
Many of the problems the agency is facing now are not new, but staff and prisoners fear an exodus of officers could make life behind bars even worse.

One reason we failed in the past is bc we didn't build up popular opposition to the crimes, whether it's torture or drone-killing or even attacking Congress.

Now is the time to do that, not after Dems retake power.
If Democrats are ever in power again what’s going to happen is the idea of holding this administration accountable for breaking the law every single day is immediately going to be made out as the greater breach of the rules.

“Strong floor, no ceiling” is absolutely the type of slogan that a focus group of swing voters will tell you they find appealing after it has been a whole hour and they just want to go home.

It’s a slogan for people convinced this country *really* wants a Mike Bloomberg presidential campaign.

Free buses. Freeze the rent. Universal childcare.
Whatever one thinks of the message, it’s just a clunky slogan. Doesn’t rhyme; no good acronym. Too abstract. It sounds like a slogan for a building that is still under construction…
November 30, 2025 at 8:18 PM
Its totally boring. Uninspired and uninspiring. If you have to explain what it means, it’s useless.
I think people are negatively reacting to the "no ceiling" part as shorthand for "let the rich get richer," though I don't think that's what's meant at all. It's an aspirational claim that *can* resonate with plenty of people. It's about opening up opportunity for everyone, which is good?
November 30, 2025 at 8:16 PM
Plus it’s stupid and uninspiring
the problem with "strong floor, no ceiling" is that we should absolutely have a ceiling
