it's a massive failure of our society that we have allowed companies to distance themselves from the horrible things said by their AI, which has been created to represent them. if your AI says it, it should be equivalent to a live human person making the same statement, and treated accordingly

This is bullshit. A chatbot is not something that can apologize.

Pretending otherwise is simple laundering these companies' bullshit about what AI is, while diffusing blame away from the human beings that developed and released this system.

A lot of people are noticing the spread of AI sexual abuse material on X now, but it has been happening for years. Young actresses like Jenna Ortega and Xochitl Gomez fled the platform. Even celebrities say there’s nothing they can do to stop it. Misogynistic violence is the main reason I left X.

My understanding of what the AI industry is doing right now is hoping they can fund enough compute to hopefully will an actual Machine God into existence before everyone realizes they can't do anything approaching that. It may be best to view it, at this point, as a religion.

And considering the owner of twitter is cheering this specific use of his product & men are eagerly defending it, the message is clear. Especially to boys. Violating women gets you male approval. It's a tool for status. It will be celebrated & protected. That's rape culture.
