i think this should be factored into how states, counties, localities and hospitals respond to these executive orders. "we will investigate you if you teach DEI." okay, with what agents, specifically? with what state capacity?
NYT reported that the number of potentially affected agents is as high as 6k. The bureau has about 13.7k agents total
What a hideous headline. Folks calling the shots here are just corrupt banana republic trash.

Remember the accusation that Harris was being fed questions by another network?

Always projection with Trump.
“About thirty minutes before the town hall was due to start, a [Trump] senior aide started getting text messages from a person on the inside at Fox…images of all the questions Trump would be asked and the planned follow-ups, down to the exact wording. Jackpot.”

very funny that i have a quote tweet calling this “right wing bullshit” because few people can store leftovers for a week or two. “you should learn how to cook and be responsible with your money as much as that is possible” is not “right wing bullshit,” it is basic life advice.

Well, I’m sure American men losing tens of billions of dollars in a way that barely existed prior to 2020 didn’t influence their opinion on the economy or anything.
Hey is exponential growth in a predatory industry good?

An endemic problem with American capitalism is how the vast majority of large investors and C-suite managers are incapable of envisioning any business model other than "I have an unregulated monopoly with low labor costs." When these plans fail, they have no idea what to do but cut labor costs more.
Gotta read btwn the lines but this story hints at an often overlooked issue: the new entertainment landscape wasn't inevitable. Studios chose to create it because Wall St told them it would be easy $. Now they say they can't afford to pay writers & actors more. Bitch you fucked up, you take the hit
In Hollywood, the Strikes Are Just Part of the Problem
The entertainment industry is trying to figure out the economics of streaming. It’s also facing angst over a tech-powered future and fighting to stay culturally dominant.

I've been listening to Taylor Swift songs in large part due to my partner, and so far the re-recordings seem nice, but I'm also concerned.

How many fans (like my partner) don't notice the instrumentation differences?

I like it here and I don’t think a mega corp Twitter clone can kill spaces like these.

There is a high level of original thought and engagement, people care about each other and maintain a strong space minimizing bad faith, harassment, and disinfo, which lets people be themselves & build community

One of my pet peeves with tech enthusiasts is their constant pleas for AMD high-end laptops.

There have been USB-4 (TB3/4 compatible) AMD laptops before, but no IT person I know is counting on a post-launch update for compatibility with essential office equipment.
It's here! Testing the first AMD laptop with USB4
Razer's new Blade 14, with a 7000-series AMD CPU, is the first Ryzen laptop we've ever seen with full USB4 support right out of the box.

I feel like I'm in such a weird place mentally, realizing my career is almost certainly staying in IT and/or sysadmin. I still have the brainstorm mindset for portfolio-piece programming, but I only reach for an IDE for fun pieces.
