The sad truth is that the wealthy know exactly what's going to happen, which is why they are all building compounds on hard to get to islands for when the great wealth reset happens. We are approaching the guillotine phase of the economic cycle & the wealthy plan to get the fuck out of Dodge first.
I'm no economist but I've wondered for a long time what rich people were thinking would happen if they made the largest part of the population too poor to buy their products. What's something worth if nobody can afford it?

Why do so many feel like they've fallen behind?

It's not because of immigrants, trans people, DEI, the “deep state,” or any other bogeyman trotted out by the GOP.

It's because big corporations and billionaires have rigged markets and siphoned off most of the economy's gains.

Australia to Ban Supermarket Price Gouging in Sweeping Competition Reforms
Australia will ban supermarket price gouging from July 1 under a new law the government says would protect shoppers from excessive grocery prices charged by major retailers.

Americans need affordable groceries, not algorithms that squeeze the maximum price out of them.

The Supreme Court is hearing arguments right now in a case engineered by the GOP to strike down a longstanding campaign finance law that prevents megadonors from bribing politicians for favors by laundering the money through political parties.

The Supreme Court Is Poised to Revive a Key Feature of Nixon-Era Corruption
The justices will hear arguments on Tuesday in NRSC v. FEC, a case cooked up by the GOP itself.

Remember: The oligarchs who control our economy and democracy seek to divide us so they can become more powerful.

They want us to turn on each other so we don't look up and see where all the wealth and power have gone.

Don't fall for it.

Increase in productivity since 1979: 87%

Increase in hourly pay since 1979: 32%

Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%.

As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.

Kinda nuts that we just have to sit back and accept these insurance companies raising rates for no apparent reason aside from increasing their own profits and there’s nothing we can do about it?

Other folks have said it, but let me just note that:

(1) lots of talented, must-read journalists have been let go from their jobs over the last year

(2) millions of Americans are abandoning current media outlets and looking for new alternatives

Seems like a sure-fire business opportunity here?

Meanwhile, he's led an all-out assault on Medicaid, SNAP, and other programs that help the poor.

A lot of the people you see arguing against food assistance are actually on food assistance. They work at Walmart or a convenience store and think they are deserving, but others are not.

This is projection and the way that the 1% keep poor people pitted against poor people so they don’t look up.

“every time theres a republican president the economy collapses” feels like pretty easy messaging on the economy
Congrats to everyone who put Republicans in charge "for the economy," the first three quarters of 2025 already had more layoffs than any of the years in which Biden or Obama was President except 2009 (when Dems were still cleaning up the prior Republican mess).
