I had a good year I think. Had a baby, earned my BA in English, read over 50 books, wrote several stories that will be published in 2026. Looking forward to more of the same in 2026.

I think the corollary that a lot of people miss about "write what you know" is that *you have the power to know more things.* Research and talking to people are a central part of writing!

If you missed it, Sugoro Quest: Dice Heroes, a 1991 board game RPG by Technos, got a localisation on PS4, Xbone and Switch last week, and oh my goodness, it's so charming!

People who think the idea of "give me ideas" is something genuinely creative people want have literally never experienced the absolute EUPHORIA of a brainstorming breakthrough, either solo or with a human collaborator. They don't understand what is happening when artists create, on a basic level.

I’ve started my (undoubtedly slow) playthrough of Metaphor ReFantazio. I adore the Persona games, but this world is already more my speed. I love that stories already seem to be a central component, a focus on the power of hope within them.

I haven’t played Shadow of the Colossus since it originally came out and that sense of awe is still there in the remake. It’s unbelievable how massive this game feels while also being laser focused.
