I’m only 3/4ths through this book, but I’m wrecked. Lots of people have correctly noted that it feels important, but (a) he’s a damn good storyteller, and (b) it’s hard to read this and not constantly see how the attempt to prop up the violence of western hegemony wrecks all our lives

This is one of the most frustrating grifts. A lot of the people pushing this "feminism failed" narrative are content creators/pod casters taking more in then their partners. Some people really have no moral center

If you can relatively easily afford it, then just book it. You should be excited to do something for her. If you can't, she should be offering to help(assuming y'all are already locked with each other). What's always missing from these scenarios is that you are suppose to actually like each other.

Sitting outside of a porch/ building etc and just chilling would bring back the vibes in the best way. Chatting up neighbors, connecting with friends nearby.

I'm worried about the midterms. I think Dems just got the same"hey, we aren't maga" and expect all the votes. They need to start coming back with ideas. Radical ones. Because people are exhausted, scared and stressed financially, socially and emotionally.

Maybe don’t vote for them just bc they are blue and/or have name recognition and/or sit at the cool kids table.
