These are both from a compilation CD that my family listened to every year when I was little. The songs on it are all so obscure that I never hear them on the radio or anything which means I still haven't gotten sick of them

I loved reading comics like Garfield, The Far Side, Calvin and Hobbes, Peanuts, and Pearls Before Swine as a kid, and for a long time my goal was to become a comic artist myself. I've kind of lost interest in that goal by now but at least I'm still drawing stuff
With all this awful news going on i wanna ask this question once again to fellow artists and general creatives. What got YOU into art? what sparked that motivation to start writing? what made you wanna pick up a camera and start taking pics? Like share with us your reasons.

I teach Sociology of Childhood, and when we talk about school shootings, my students tell me about how they also do these checks in their classes--noting locks on doors, thinking about how to escape and where to hide. I hate that they have to mind those risks while trying to learn.
Each semester I go in my classroom and I try to figure out what we would use to block the doors, if it would be safe to crawl out the windows, where we could hide if there was a mass shooter in campus. It’s such an indictment of this country how we have normalized these preventable tragedies.
