I feel like I see this take every couple of days. Treating the Normandy invasions like some kind of rush job to beat the Soviets rather than an incredibly complicated amphibious invasion that took years to plan and had Stalin threatening to make a separate peace if the Allies didn't hurry it up.

The US never fought to end fascism anywhere. They joined the war because Japan forced their hand, and they saw a great way to make money. After the USSR pretty much had pushed Germany out of eastern Europe and they knew the nazis were going to lose, they jumped in.

But in later grades, progressive opposition to "tracking" is misguided imo. Ability sorting can be beneficial for all students, when done right www.vox.com/politics/464...
