Raising a young @washingtonspirit.com fan here, 4YO, is displeased (to put it mildly) when I go to games without her, & can pick Trin out of a crowd (we’re working on Croix next). But tell me the NWSL doesn’t have young fans. Why are we creating self fulfilling prophecies & ruining a good thing?

What else could be taking priority here at the league office? This doesn’t feel like a “circle back after the holidays” moment to anyone watching.
Today, Wednesday, marked 14 days from the NWSLPA's grievance filed on behalf of Trinity Rodman against the NWSL. Sources tell me that the deadline for the league's response to sustain or deny the grievance in writing has been extended.

The NWSLPA has filed a grievance against the #NWSL on behalf of Trinity Rodman for a "flagrant violation" of Rodman's free agency rights, and multiple CBA violations after a multi-year, multi-million dollar agreement between Rodman and the Spirit was vetoed by the league.

Lifting heavy only made me slightly less ragey about the NWSL’s position. You have arguably the biggest star in the league who WANTS TO STAY, a creative deal that seems to be well within the rules and it’s rejected because it isn’t in the spirit of the league? What are we even doing here?

Except accept a deal with an escalation clause that stays within the cap, like all those men’s leagues you like to compare yourself to.
A league spokesperson sent a statement: “Our goal is to ensure that the very best players in the world, including Trinity, continue to call this league home. We will do everything we can, utilizing every lever available within our rules to keep Trinity Rodman here."
