sat down with Jurgen Klopp for 45 minutes as he told me about why he doesn’t miss coaching at all, work-life balance, why a Saturday in Central Park is better than a loss at Selhurst Park and more

a lot of great nuggets in this one, I highly recommend reading it

Jurgen Klopp loves life after coaching, doesn't plan on coming back: 'I miss nothing, I enjoy what I'm doing'
Klopp, now the head of global soccer at Red Bull, has a job that satisfies his coaching itch -- without the pressures of bearing '1,000% responsibility' for results

climbed a ton of stairs for the first time since dislocating my kneecap a month-ish ago to take in RB Leipzig’s win over Freiburg tonight and I think my physical therapist would be proud of me

clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester United are always bravely asking the question of why they should be a functional organization when they can just cause chaos from time to time and I think you have admire them for that

Most recent World Cups have been controversial in their own way.

But in 2026, the United States will take its place alongside the most problematic hosts in the tournament's checkered history.

long story (and quite frankly, the best story I have) but I dislocated my kneecap once by simply sliding into a booth at a restaurant
What's the most ridiculous way you ever hurt yourself? I got out of the tub, skidded in water and tripped over the toilet. Ankle sprain.

McCaskill to Gotham is a confusing one on 2 fronts: With Lavelle, Shaw, & Schupansky, do the Bats need another central creator? And given McCaskill's experience/success in NWSL, it would be a surprise if her contract is the kind Gotham (with its USWNT stars + Esther + AKB) can take on cap-wise.

the best thing about this is that it isn’t even El Kaabi’s first bicycle kick of the competition - AFCON never disappoints
AFCON 2025 just keeps on delivering because what do you mean Ayoub El Kaabi just pulled off a bicycle kick goal off a set piece

(He was initially ruled offside but VAR ruled he was on and it was a good goal)

crunched some numbers, scoured the web and I think I came up with a comprehensive list of players who’d fall under the #NWSL’s high-impact player rule!

a lot of names you’d expect but there are some notable exclusions — like Catarina Macario and Lily Yohannes

the #NWSL’s criteria for the high-impact player rule isn’t arbitrary per se but it feels a bit silly to read a list like this, especially it almost goes without saying that teams would be targeting this type of player anyway
