When this book arrived for me at my local indie book store, the staff were all goggling over how beautiful it was. It's a lovely physical book as well as a lovely story. ❤️🦊

Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate! The mister is cooking, as usual, and it's just three of us, but I'm very thankful to be here, drinking coffee and watching what passes for the Macy's parade these days, and for all of you who have been such a support during both good and rough times. ❤️🦃

Shot in the Cincinnati main library, and relatable to those of us "in the business". My brother-in-law's nephew plays Smutts, one of the sit-in group, which made it even more fun personally.

Religion is what you do with it.
NEW: Churches in Charlotte are hosting trainings on how to response to ICE agents — with *hundreds* filling pews.

At one training, a child led those gathered in "This Little Light of Mine" — but changed the words to “All around Border Patrol, I’m gonna let it shine" religionnews.com/2025/11/20/a...
As ICE descends on Charlotte, faith leaders draw on other cities' actions to aid immigrants
(RNS) — As many as 500 people, a mix of clergy and other volunteers, have appeared at the training sessions on how to counter ICE.

I went to an estate sale in a nearby village to scout for books. The house belongs to an elderly English lady who has lived in this tiny village for 25 years, and is now moving back home to expire (her words). Judging from various inscriptions and bookmarks I found, her books are very well-traveled.

I think one of the major contributing factors to the young right wing is that they didn't grow up with WWII vets.

Its all cosplay and whataboutism to them. They didn't play with kids whose parents had camp tattoos, or learn from old men who still cried from PTSD. 1/?

Ruby Bridges is only 9 months older than I am.
It’s useful for people of my generation to be reminded that this wasn’t that long ago. Ruby Bridges isn’t just still alive—she’s only 71, not ancient!
65 years ago on Nov. 14, little Ruby Bridges was escorted into an all-white elementary school in New Orleans. Norman Rockwell, renowned for blissful depictions of Americana, did this remarkable painting for Look magazine. Printed as a double page, over-size spread, it's his masterpiece.
