This was great. Look at this difference!

An important channel for macro uncertainty is the interplay of financial & labor markets.

Uncertainty exerts downward pressure on asset values, discouraging vacancy posting and making it harder for workers to find jobs. Potentially inflationary.

Great, topical paper by @cacilialipowski.bsky.social et al presented at German-Economists-Abroad2024:

👉 Innovative technologies spur acquisition of less routine, technology-complementing skills
👉Valuable addition to much research on task displacement

Not a very encouraging picture painted in @cawley_john's post, further compounded by the data on EJM

Returned to my alma mater for the weekend. Little has changed since I started my graduate studies in 2016; it's still beautiful in the autumn, my favourite cafe is thriving, and social science students are debating "how the Democrats recover from this"

1/4 New micro-macro paper on MPCs, with Xavier Jaravel and @efize.bsky.social. We run an RCT to evaluate the consumption response to stimulus transfers, incl. a cash-like transfer and some more creative designs. It was expensive, but we think it was worth it ;) jmboehm.github.io/Helicopter.pdf

For the very little it's worth, so hatte ich diese Passage ebenfalls interpretiert. (Wobei diese Argumentation ja nur innerhalb einer anti-realist Perspektive überzeugend ist? Genealogie ist hilfreich weil sie über die Funktion und *daher* über die Rechtfertigung Auskunft gibt?)
