I don't think Democrats should surrender on "DEI" for the same reason I don't think we should surrender on "trans sports". The actual demand in both cases is that the affected caste of people disappear from public society, and that is not something we should (or can!!) deliver upon.

I have yet to see it fail that anyone making the argument "and I turned out fine!" not only did not turn out fine, but in fact proved they did not turn out fine in the 2-3 paragraphs preceeding the statement where they claimed to turn out fine.
From Trump to Hannity, it's pretty depressing to learn that our slide into authoritarianism is at least partially a product of conservative boomers working out issues with their abusive fathers.

A funny thing that always happens when my family drags me into a political argument is they inevitably end it with something like “you pay too much attention to this stuff.” Like yes I have to because the people you vote for are constantly trying to ruin my life, of course I pay attention to it.

There was a Native person bit by a Black Widow spider, and their life was very much in danger if they weren't immediately transported to receive testing confirmation and administered Anti-Venom.
We understand this may be frustrating, but we refuse to put a price on a Native life.
