If you like interesting covers of amazing songs, I have a bunch more…it’s a bit of a thing with me.

David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance”, converted from 80s pop-pomp and coke-dancefloor-slick-sheen…to back woods, broken hearted, bleak mid-winter-country strum:

One bad commutation produces ten thousand times the outrage of thousands of unnecessary incarcerations.

If you are chiming in only now, ask yourself why you are demanding perfection here, but not on those we lock up in our sadistic prisons?

Why does mercy anger you but cruelty does not?

Sad trombone reality: internal corporate security team phishing trick emails are the nicest, kindest, emails you receive all year from corporate.

Today I got a “recognised for hard work” and a sizeable gift card but had to report it. It had to be phishing as my line manager has no idea what I do.

A lot of things suck in this lifetime, but I remember when the thought of this was incomprehensible. This is beautiful.

I believe the Earth is actually a custard filled globe, hardened by fire and caramel along the upper crust. Yes, I have founded the Flan Earth Society. I even wrote some stories about it. It's decent flan fiction.

An unusual episode today, as we consider the methodology used by Carlo Ginzburg in his pioneering work of "micro-history," The Cheese and the Worms, on how a 16th Italian peasant became a self-taught philosopher.

In lighter news, my “wrapped” song this year is a cover of Sade’s “Sweetest Taboo” by Henry Green.

Highly recommend.
Brings the vibes and the feels. Modern take, and keeps close to the original - you can’t go wrong with the original.

Unwelcome but realistic take: The outcome of the murder of CEO Brian Thompson, is not the “victory” being posted on here.

Negaitive impact: There will be more corporate security, and the future murder of an innocent activist approaching a CEO on the street to ask a question or challenge a policy.

Happy to be here. Left Twitter after Elon took over, good to see early Twitter vibes and behaviours here. Long may it continue!
