TOMORROW IS THE WINTER SOLSTICE AND Y'ALL KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS. It is time for the women (defined broadly) to hunt the Year King through the woods and tear him apart with their bare hands!

Also, congratulations everyone who made something this year. A comic, a song, a film, a novel, a painting, a poem, a short story, a sculpture, crochet, embroidery, whatever it is. In this era of slop and theft, if you *make* something you are a shining jewel and I am so grateful for you.

“Your windows need scrubbing,” said Frog. “Your plants need watering.”

I have to have a CT scan of my sinuses tomorrow and it's an entirely new medical experience for me. How exciting. I gotta take out my earrings, might not be able to get them back in.

It's too cool for school so I'm sewing tiny squares together while I work. #quiltsky #sewsky

Tomorrow is another day without school, this time due to the temperatures at the time the kids would be standing at bus stops. It rarely gets quite this cold and way too many kids just don't have proper winter gear. Heck my own kid doesn't have snow boots that fit (they are on their way).

I am working on a different task now, pulling the papers from this English paper pieced quilt. It's only a section of the finished quilt so I'm leaving the edges in, but this will allow me to fold the section. #epp #quiltsky

The first full block in the strawberry star quilt is together and I realize that 16 inches is a BIG block. I knew it in theory but I certainly know it now. #quiltsky #quilting

I finished this shirt last night and I'm very proud of it, but it's a Christmas gift so I'm trying to be low key and not show the recipient two weeks early. #sewsky #sewing

Made some veggie enchiladas. The filling is summer squash past its prime, rinsed black beans, and bell pepper also slightly past prime. Oh and cheese. I layer it like lasagna because I'm terrible at rolling them.

Since I seem to be permanently cat trapped today I am alternating between knitting and sewing with the idea I will not overtax my hands with either.

The hardest part of knitting socks one at a time is not letting myself get distracted between the first and the second so I made sure to cast on the second sock as soon as I finished the toe of the first. #knitsky
