Tell me you don't read modern romance without telling me you don't read modern romance.
I love how you can time romances to certain beats. The kiss at exactly 50%. The big breakup at 75-80%. The grand gesture and reconciliation at 95%.

I don't mind predictable and formulaic... as long as the books still have -soul- and aren't paint by numbers.

Doing a little stitching in bed, this is January 18. Was quite cold. #quiltsky #sewsky #temperaturequilt

I think I'm allergic to my office. Just had my first full day at work after being only there for short periods for two weeks and tonight I needed a breathing treatment. Doesn't seem coincidental.

Time for more binding (turned the first corner) and watching fancy skiing. #quiltsky

I grew up with men who exclusively went by "Grizz" and "Junebug" - they barely remembered that it was actually Phillip and Emil. But if that person changes gender and not just their name it's apparently too complicated.
Baffled by transphobes insisting that the name on your birth certificate is Your True Name Forever when it was common in my grandparents' generation to just...pick a name you like and use that, nbd. I literally found out both of my grandma's birth certificate first names FROM THEIR OBITUARIES.

Unless something has changed in KY I think I'm being punished for crossing the Ohio river. Believe me, I didn't want to.

Getting ready for a big trip up north to see the opthalmologist. In the meantime I'm stitching on this binding, drinking tea, and being judged by a cat. #quiltsky #sewsky

A reminder: there is not a single housing market in America—not one city, state, or county—where someone relying on SSI can afford a one-bedroom apartment.

Deaths like these are always preceded by engineered abandonment. Disproportionate homelessness among people with disabilities is no accident.
High rents outpace federal disability payments, leaving many homeless
Supplemental Security Income, a federal program meant to be a financial floor for people unable to work, hasn't kept pace with inflation. Many recipients are homeless, unable to save for an apartment.

It is day 11 of no school and I'm working on this quilt binding between work tasks and parenting tasks. There's a lot of cat hair on this quilt.

Let me tell you a little about why this is so important.

I have a 6yo with multiple top 9 allergies (& mustard...)

We spent a week in Disney in Dec and they are well known for their allergy awareness.

My kid could eat at every restaurant and he said how special it was for him to eat with family.
Hey folks, if you live in Maryland please email your state legislators about HB 181, which supports food allergen disclosure in restaurants.

We have a happy 6yo with multiple top 9 allergies (no advice please) and we want to be safely informed about where and what he can eat.

For no reason I want the skyline to know that Wyze lets you watch your place & choose not to upload, unlike Ring & others
So uh Ring just up and said they've got a huge centralized private surveillance network they can leverage all at once huh

I'm just watching the regular OTA coverage of the Olympics and trying to redirect my child to it occasionally because I think he will find something cool. He's uninterested in snowboarding so far but ice dancing is "actually pretty cool"

This morning I took the kiddo to the YMCA for a workout and a swim, then we picked up a huge bag of library books, got lunch, and then braved the grocery store. Now I'm tired and a bit sore and watching some ice skating.

A good thing you can do about this instead of dooming is Google “how to become a poll observer in [your town]”
Breaking:

The White House press secretary just said she "can't guarantee" that ICE won't be around polling locations in November.
