Unpopular opinion, but you should actually cite the sources you use and academics routinely fail to do so if it's not from another published academic paper.

You used ChatGPT? You cite it.

You scraped a marginalised population's reddit posts? You cite them.

If you see all the Gemini commercials showing examples of how it "helps" with work, it is people going "oh shit I forgot about this presentation/report, Gemini! Make it for me real quick!" And that undoubtedly error fueled mess would get an employee fired but an executive can just shrug it off fine
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
Execs are embracing AI more than their employees are, new research suggests
Research from HR software company Dayforce suggests that executives are leaning into AI far more than their employees.

Had the weird experience of the doc doing a breast exam and she commented on how many small lumps there were but I'm fairly certain she was just feeling the knots in the muscle underneath and had never met a woman that did pushups before.

The new questions for the Australian census next year really aren't any better than the last mess regarding trans people. In fact, they will more effectively erase the lives of trans people. The sex question has been replaced with "sex at birth". I'll explain why this is an issue. 🧵

Lawyer says that the fact that I have hip dysplasia makes the chances of success even smaller. So yeah, another confirmation that doctors have extremely wide authority to brutalize you and even more-so if you are disabled. There’s pretty much nothing you can do about it. That sucks.

Followed up with a personal-injury lawyer about the physician who tore my hip and they confirmed what I suspected: despite my extensive records of the injury, my case is so unlikely to succeed that they won’t take it.

For the most part, doctors can injure you with absolutely no consequences.

One of the things that I've been writing and researching over the past year is how people are neurologically, psychologically and systematically primed for political cruelty, and one of the only heartening things is this - that it would disappear if it wasn't maintained by massive effort.
Seeing how much of the right-wing on Twitter is just bot farms, kinda lays bare how much hate and hatred is a project that needs to be constantly maintained, a fire that needs to be fed all the time lest it go out for a moment, so much time, effort, and resources to keep people angry and hateful.
