A good read.
Fatphobia has never really ever stopped, but I can't help but feel like our cultural moment of fascism galore is why this (and ableism and racism and and and-) has spiked so sharply. Only the right kinds of people, right kinds of BODIES should exist.
My column this week is about how fucking BAD the body image/fatphobic vibes are at the moment and how other people need to engage before it destroys us all. I don’t ever insist you read my stuff but I’d love you to read this one www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
The thin-obsessed world is growing more vicious by the minute. But fat people aren’t going anywhere | Rebecca Shaw
It’s time to open up your big fat mouths and push back against fatphobia

We are stronger together.

That is how we stand up against the hate.

We get into our community to help & to engage because we are stronger together.

Pick a thing that you want & get involved.

Building a community is easy when you see folks as humans looking to feel that they belong alongside you.

It is certainly an interesting experience to see your city's mayor be interviewed by CBC about "so what are you gonna do about the tarrifs, eh?"

I'm used to no one anywhere giving a crap about the area, and now circumstance makes it that we're potentially The Most Fucked, whee... 🙃

Oh hey, the sidewalks uptown are better than I'd thought they'd be this morning, after all that snow last night!

Not too cold, either, if you bundle up and keep moving briskly.

I needed a profile pic in a hurry so I sifted thru my old pics and found THIS fun pile of very non-standard candy hearts! Tag yourself! 😗

(I think someone used an early version of chat GPT or something) to generate sayings, then edited it manually. Much less sketch than current AI stuff, I feel.)
