Today, on International Women’s Day, we celebrate the incredible achievements, resilience, and leadership of women across the globe. Let’s continue to break barriers, stand up for equality, and create a world where all women and girls can reach their full potential.

Spent the day in Albany talking to our representatives and their staff about the great work Hospicare does in New York State. This was my first advocacy day, but definitely not the last. ❤️

Because it is #Caturday, here's Trixie helping herself to some ranch.

She was a rescue that we were supposed to be temporary fosters for. Almost six years later, she's still with us. ❤️

Look up how much NIH helps research in your state. Then call your reps and ask them how your state will function without the [$X billion] your state is about to lose.

This!!! But for your state. Aside from just the big society based impact, I’ve been wondering how long I’ll be able to keep my job. I’m extremely anxious about it.

So grateful to see more of our elected officials standing up and protesting.
Democratic senators will hold the Senate floor all night long in opposition to the nomination of Russ Vought, an organizer of Project 2025, to head the OMB.

Outside of USAID headquarters, Senator Brian Schatz:

"If you want to change an agency, introduce a bill and pass a law. You cannot wave away an agency that you don't like or that you disagree with by executive order, or by literally storming into the building and taking over the servers."

When they go low, we call them out and make no apologies.
Jasmine Crockett: "The problem is that Americans thought it was okay to take a full fledged criminal and make him the President of the US and then they want to act aghast when he does criminal things. Let me tell you, we have a thug in charge of the US and if we don't wake up we may not have a US"

This.

Make the calls. There are tools and scripts out there that make it easy.

It's okay to be angry, to be afraid, to feel heartbroken, or to want to bury your head in the sand. But you can't let that push you to inaction.

So make the calls. Send the emails. Show up and be heard.
To folks saying "Calling does nothing!" and then... not suggesting any actions instead, even small ones? Please, save us both some time, don't bother posting at me, and just block me now. I'll use the time to take action (not JUST call, fyi) & you can use it to... stare into the abyss of doom? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.

Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

If you prefer not to use an app (eg 5calls), here's a great tool to find your reps, including local ones. Tip: save their numbers in your phone, your future self will thank you.
Y'all, @pronounced-ing.bsky.social clued me in to Common Cause's awesome find your reps tool - which shows you phone numbers for ALL your reps, including local politicians!

To make it SUPER EASY to find the tool, I registered reps.fyi & made it point to the site - feel free to share it!

Okay, I cannot recommend 5calls.org enough. Enter your address and it will find all your reps (federal and state). AND give you a list of issues to call about AND which reps to call about each of them AND a little script for each, in case it's helpful. They have an app, too.

Call your representatives!

Ask questions. Express concerns. State your opposition to Trump's power grabs.

But also? If they and their team are speaking out, voicing their opposition, and fighting back?

Thank them. Tell them you appreciate their work. They probably need to hear it.
