The thing that’s fucking wild about Baby Steps is that it includes stuff like this, some of the funniest shit I have ever seen in a game, and also has scenes that will gut you in ways you just won’t see coming.

Very possible that the Chiefs have lost it this season, they look terrible, but I am also very aware that this is like the 4th season in a row now where the Chiefs struggle in the first few games and people declare them washed forever.

Yeah someone kind of has to help her get past the Kanye stuff as a writer. You can still really feel it in her writing, and I do get it, but it has just started to manifest in really weird ways! I don't know how much she can say about the "haters" at this point when she has defeated them all.

I think she invites a lot of ungenerous readings on the album as a whole because of that one, and I really do think the sentiment is worse than it would have been because of it. It really does put the album in a needlessly nasty light.

Yeah it's tough to make a song like Cancelled and assume that it's not going to get interpreted in 1000 ways, even if it's immediately clear to the very dedicated crowd what it's about. You ultimately have to live with how it comes off if that's how you want to write.
