If you, like me, have no desire to upgrade to Windows 11 but Microsoft is rattling their metaphorical "no more protections for YOU!" saber,

Enroll in extended security updates. Took me less than five minutes for both devices.

Do it before October 14!!!!!

But then I'd have to change my answer...

I might have had Battle Masters before Rogue Trader. I can never decide if it's a wargame or a board game 😅

The hardback was notorious. I had the soft cover, and it's still in one piece!

First tabletop wargame? 40k Rogue Trader. What a book that was. A real work of imagination before the 40k universe had solidified.

(Let's not dwell on the actual rules, though. Thankfully 2nd ed came out not long after I started playing).

Last night, #bdog was pootling around in the dark, so I shone a torch to keep an eye on him. The torch attracted a bunch of bugs, which in turn attracted a bat. Came back and forth no more than 6 feet from me, hunting 3 feet off the ground, buzzing bdog in the process! 🦇🐕

I love how the party is really lacking some magic, but you all hate wizards so much now that none of you will play one.

Tron gives an inaccurate impression of how many guys live in your computer. It makes it seem like thousands of guys are in there. In reality only about 10 guys live in your computer and less than half of them ride motorcycles

CHATGPT: I understand where you're coming from. You worked really hard to get here, and now it's time to enjoy the fruit of your labors.

ISILDUR: So I should keep it? Elrond says I shouldn't

CHATGPT: The ring is precious. Sometimes friends don't have your best interests at heart.

It is really weird. The head looks like a different (or newer) material, so quite possibly!

Ushabti didn't exist when Warhammer Quest came out, so I made up some rules and had a card printed with my last batch of homebrew expansion cards.

More #WarhammerQuest for #MiniatureMonday. I bought these proxy Ushabti from Highlands Miniatures back when Tomb Kings minis were out of production. Took me so long to paint them that the originals are now back in store. Oops!

Bases, as always, from @fenrisgames.com

This is a hugely relevant point. Publishers can’t rely on artists to do their marketing/PR for them anymore. The ability to reach readers via SM has been decimated.
gwillow.me
In all seriousness, publishers are going to have to figure out how to market books in the post-social-media landscape. That should be an implicit part of their job. What authors/artists can do on their own is increasingly limited and siloed.

happy sunday, remember that you are completely expendable to your employer and that when you die they will forget you ever existed within weeks and easily replace you
Work really hard and one day this can be you (followed by graffiti of a headstone that says “RIP worked really hard” on it

Yes mate, I know exactly how you feel.

Driving home, and just saw the first Christmas lights up in a house. Happy Octobermas!

The Simpsons. All my friends at school loved it, quoted it, wore the t-shirt. Some of my adult friends still do. I didn't get it back then, and I don't get it now.
