Ilhan Omar supporters were not walking into American synagogues in 2018 causing body counts, no
I've said many a time that there's without a doubt antisemitism on both sides of the political spectrum but my synagogue doesn't hire armed guards to be on premises every time we have services because we're worried about crazed Rashida Tlaib supporters.

many Tester pieces this week, but he's not exactly Montana's 'last Democrat'

the MT supreme court right now is a backstop against rapid conservative bills; struck down GOP measures like conceal carry, voting restrictions, & parental notifications.

That’s all on ballot too now, in Tester’s shadow
“It’s Our Last Backstop”: How Voting Access in Montana Rides on Supreme Court Races
Montana’s high court has unwound GOP priorities, including striking down voting restrictions this spring, but conservatives hope the November elections land them a friendlier court.

The NYPD issued 786 jaywalking summonses during the first six months of 2024. 15% were given to white people.
NYPD issues hundreds of jaywalking tickets a year. Vast majority go to people of color.
Though nearly every New Yorker jaywalks from time to time, people of color make up the overwhelming majority of those who are ticketed for the violation.

Hm, the 10-point swing from Harris to Trump that we found in Arizona after the debate doesn't seem to show up in the state's down-ballot polling—clearly what's going on here is that the people of Arizona have decided to start splitting their votes

How people can be anti-abortion and pro-death penalty is much easier to explain if you realize it’s not about the value of human life. It’s about whether the state can control the lives of undesirables (women, minorities, the poor) from the womb to the grave).

It's currently Banned Books Week and I'd love to use this moment to remind you that book bans aren't about the books.

They're about silencing marginalized people (and creating the permission structure for their harm) and defunding institutions of public learning.

Note: NHTSA's proposal to restrain car bloat is not a done deal.

After the comment period ends, NHTSA could enact the proposal as is, water it down, or shelve it.

If you have opinions about what NHTSA should do, now is the time to share them: www.regulations.gov/document/NHT...
Finally, the Biden administration is taking a stand against car bloat.

NHTSA has proposed banning SUV/pickup hood designs that are especially likely to cause head injuries.

In Fast Company, I explained why this could be a watershed moment. 🧵
