St. Paul was inspired by the "Denver Model" and created its own "Saint Paul Model" and brought their clearance rate from 37% in 2023 to 70.5% in 2024.

In 2025, St. Paul is now trending to have a 30% reduction in shots fired and a 70% reduction in homicides.

Every time I see someone say, "this violates the Hatch Act" I think: None of this matters obviously this administration doesn't believe the law applies to them. But then I see something like this and think: Damn, we aren't just playing by different rules. We're playing entirely different games.

NEW—US Department of Education sent out standard Out of Office language to employees on Wednesday in light of shutdown. Later yesterday, workers tell me they found someone had updated their auto-responses without consent to a new one blaming Democrats.

Not to double down on the Saint Paul Scold, but I'm with Wes here. While I think it's true that Coates comes off as a deeply thoughtful intellectual (that I think outpaces Klein by miles,) I also think Klein's willingness to vulnerability is essential and refreshing. And it shouldn't be diminished.

US farmers are saying they "just need temporary help, until things get better."

Here's the thing. US farm exports- which are mostly soy- CANNOT get better.

Other countries expanded their soy industries to fill China's demand.

We've walled ourselves out of the global market, folks. This is it.

From @nbareferees.bsky.social on X: This is NOT a foul. Thomas legally gets to the ball and knocks the ball loose prior to any contact. The leg to leg contact is incidental once the ball is clearly loose. This was correctly judged in real time as a no call as were the subsequent technical fouls.
