On 10/6/2023, Israel was an apartheid state illegally and brutally occupying Palestine. If we leave the survivors of a genocide to navigate apartheid and occupation in the rubble as their land is swallowed by settlements and we pay lip service to a "two state solution," we will have failed them.

The Dispossessed has been on my TBR list for a long time, maybe it's time to finally pick it up. And I eventually realized that Forum Culture just wasn't healthy for me to be a part of, so I haven't really looked for an exact replacement, but several of my moots here are fun sci-fi nerds.

When I was living in my car a stranger on a science fiction forum that I hung out on sent me $500, which allowed me to make a deposit on an apartment and shaved probably a month or more off of my period of homelessness. My only regret about leaving that forum is losing contact with that kind person.

Your reminder that credit scores in the US date to 1989. For much of their existence, race and gender were factors.

They were invented bc it had been made illegal to discriminate by race and gender in the US, so financial institutions wanted a facially neutral way to accomplish the same thing.
