FWIW, this is a solid summation, and better description, of my opinion on the whole "AI" clusterfuck.
It is amazing for handling automation with gross edge cases, fast triage of heterogeneous data, and agents automating APIs are going to accelerate a few workflows by 5x or 50x… but those are mostly not going to be consumer-facing or billable via subscription. No shareholder return, really.

As someone who worked as a student in the university call center trying to raise money our system has a field for "reason for refusal". I strongly encourage any NU or other alums to clearly state this as the reason for not giving when you get called.
BREAKING: Northwestern University has agreed to pay the U.S. Treasury $75 million, over the course of three years as part of an agreement with the federal government to restore funding and end investigations into the university

I thought this was hilarious.
But then saw the hump on the second moose shift oddly when the car was being moved. Then read comments and saw closeup of the car, no actual text on back or above 'Police' on the door.
I HATE that AI can be this good, AND it'll call into question real footage. Ugh
Meanwhile in Minnesota...

Can media someone please press Trump on the use of Arabic Numbers being used in blue state schools?!
So he'll rant about it and eventually insist we mandate American Numbers?
I'd really like to see that

Bagram base and China? What?
Yes the first 80% is Trump being an addled bigot
Jerk
But what's that last part?
“You’re a stupid person” — Trump lashes out at a reporter who presses him on the fact that the suspected DC shooter was actually thoroughly vetted before he was let in the US from Afghanistan

I may be old but I'll tell ya, an elitist dork like this telling me to 'dress better' at an *airport* of all things...well, just makes me want to show up in PJs all the more.
I mean, already do fairly decent comfy clothes anyway but willing to go full sweats/PJs to counter such ridiculousness.
Sean Duffy: "Dressing with respect -- whether it's a pair of jeans and a decent shirt, I would encourage people to maybe dress a little better which encourages us to maybe behave a little better. Let's try not to wear slippers and pajamas as we come to the airport."

I signed on to this and fully support Bob’s work here. It is past time we stop spreading bad security advice like telling our teams not to use public WiFi or scan QR codes.

Let’s focus on teaching reasonable security measures and prioritize practical steps like using MFA.

“We’re doing some fix-up of the base, which it needs. We’re gonna try and reinstitute the golf courses. I’m meeting with the greatest Jack Nicklaus,” Trump told reporters..."

"Located in Maryland, about 15 miles... from the White House, Andrews houses Air Force One."

Hey #EduSky, I have a question for you...

Where should I look to find large school grant opportunities? I found something I want to get for my school, but it's five grand... After budget cuts, I am 100% certain our district won't fund it.

I get that MTG’s pension vests Jan 3, 2026. But that pension pales in comparison to the money she could grift by staying in her job until her term is up. I can’t figure out why she’s leaving a year early. She’s worth $25M. The pension is peanuts.

Not to lessen the other jobs/degrees on this absurd list, but...
I know many teachers and nurses and they're among the most dedicated, professional, and kind people I know.
🧵 Let’s be so effing for real right now. The Department of Education saying these jobs are no longer PROFESSIONAL is dumb as hell and insulting as fuck. It takes YEARS of post-graduate training, including passing certifying exams, to earn degrees in these fields. #fdt #momsky

Hey Larry, maybe you can resume your teaching duties at Harvard if you come clean on who and what you saw while you were frolicking at a predator's island pad.
Shortly after he married fellow Harvard University Professor Elisa New, Larry Summers and his wife flew on Jeffrey Epstein’s plane to the Caribbean, and spent part of their honeymoon on Epstein’s private island, The Harvard Crimson reports.
Summers Visited Epstein’s Island During 2005 Honeymoon | News | The Harvard Crimson
In the winter of 2005, just after their wedding at Elmwood — the Harvard president’s official residence — Lawrence H. Summers and his wife, Elisa F. New, traded Cambridge’s cold for a warmer escape.
