Our first actual Christmas Day together.

Past years we’ve had early Christmas gatherings, before I went home with family. I’ll be seeing them tomorrow for Boxing Day.

When Democrats in the US sort themselves out, and finally win back power. Will the Bill that basically undoes all the shit Trump has done, be bigger and more beautiful, than Trumps "one big beautiful" bill?

Non spoiler thoughts on The War Between The Land and The Sea...

This I think was a better story to tell as a multi-part story than Flux was.

And a good example of how to do it compared to the old 4 part serials of Doctor Who past.

No filler, or false cliff-hangers each episode

The key to having a good story, is to have an ending.

The AI bubble has yet to burst, so we wont get the comeuppance that is required for those who dragged us all into this folly.
@shwood.com's podcast is storytelling mastery. Nevertheless, I can't help the suspicion that, were we sufficiently omniscient, we'd realize we're living in the middle of the world's greatest con.

The tech people like and value stays.

The tech people reject and dismiss goes.

We got rid of arguably superior stuff like Betamax and the Amiga just due to bad marketing. You honestly think this generative "AI" horseshit is going to survive our hate *and* being unprofitable?
“Love it or hate it it’s here to stay” is a crazy thing to keep saying about a technology. If people don’t like using something it doesn’t have to stay we’re not talking about bad weather here

They are putting all their eggs in the AI basket.

So be it...

When the AI bubble bursts, Satya will be ousted, and whatever little remains, will have to pivot back to user satisfaction.

The brain drain will be brutal, those execs who remain sceptical...

Bridget Phillipson knew her history, was told by MPs not to appoint her, insisted on appointing her, and in her first interview the Chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission has ignored super clear and explicit human rights law that trans people are not a third sex. What a disgrace.

Skawo made a video doing a deep dive into the #64DD code of Zelda Ocarina of Time and how it could be used by the original devs.
Been helping Skawo a slight bit about that but he's still way way more knowledgeable about OoT's code than I do.

As a Netflix subscriber, I should be happy for Netflix to buy Warner Bros, but I think Paramount is a better choice, as two smaller studios and streaming services merging, will result in a viable competitor to Disney, Netflix, Comcast.

This was the first Star Trek thing I saw. My dad took me to the theater to see it, back when I only knew Star Trek (TNG) as "dad's show". Later went on to rent all the other movies (in the weird order of 6-4-5-1-2-3). That, along with Voyager premiering right after is what got me hooked (obsessed?).
Star Trek Generations was released 31 years ago today.
