I've had a lot of cheapass stretch denim jeans fail on me that way, while the rest of the jeans are just fine. So I've gotten a lot of practice mending thigh-rub holes in jeans.

Jeans are pretty easy to repair when they wear out or rip.
Most "how to mend jeans" tutorials lean toward "visible mending", putting interesting patches on knees or pockets. But if you're like me and your thighs rub, your jeans wear out in the crotch -- NOT somewhere you want an eye-catching patch.
