I've been trying to keep my skin from drying out this winter. The best things so far: humidifier next to the bed, lip mask at night, drinking a ton of water (especially right after I wake up), and in-shower lotion. Normally by January my fingertips are cracked and bleeding, but so far, so good.

I’m a (hobby level) lapidarist and they are generally like this in person, too. It’s so nice.
one antidote for the “maybe all men” feeling is to watch old lapidarist guys on youtube. they’re all named like dave or chad and they are the most wholesome creatures on earth. right now they’re slicing through a sweet malawi agate with a table saw and gasping at “how pretty you are”

This JD Vance couch thing is killing me. AP released a story that it was false, and then they retracted the story. The real problem is that no one appears to have actually read Hillbilly Elegy so it's unverifiable. 😂

I worked on a weird little agate in lapidary class last night. I believe this is Tennessee Paint Rock but am not positive. I had no idea the black would be so prominent until I started shaping it!
