When I first moved to LA I thought it was SepulVAYda, like with a Spanish accent.

Same with La Cienega (which is La SeeENugah and I have thought was La SeeuhNAYguh...) I was v. much mocked by my roommates.

I was surprised I got two wrong, but I read A LOT of bad writing, so I think this could be a key distinction. I thought all my samples were poorly written, but that does make it harder to catch.

They will never attribute autism to something that Dads do. Or some shortfall in public services or environmental standards.

Welp, I have just been told I need to redo the website for our multicultural program hosted by a university because it uses the word "diverse" as in "a diverse group of students." They are afraid of getting flagged by the US government.
