COVID-19 Surges Linked to Spike in Heart Attacks
New data analysis from the Smidt Heart Institute at Cedars-Sinai found that deaths from heart attacks rose significantly during pandemic surges, including the COVID-19 Omicron surges, overall reversing a heart-healthier pre-pandemic trend.Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, heart attacks were the leading cause of death worldwide but were steadily on...

Gov. Hochul has the ability to pass the NY Health Act, which would guarantee healthcare for everyone in NY.

We have the votes to pass it in the state legislature, but Gov. Hochul refuses to endorse.

Any rhetoric on healthcare, is meaningless.

You have the power to fix this.
Today’s vote makes it official: New York’s Republican members of Congress voted to gamble with their constituents’ lives to pay for billionaire tax breaks.

They had two chances to stand up to Donald Trump and fight for the people they serve. They failed both times.

Republicans keep saying the “genuinely disabled” don’t have to worry about losing Medicaid.

All disabilities are genuine.

You also need healthcare to get a diagnosis. To get the paperwork done. To “prove it”.

They’re ensuring people get trapped in red tape loopholes so they can’t get care.

I literally have a note from my pulmonologist to say that I cannot risk another respiratory infection and must be allowed to keep my mask on at all group functions at work. I feel like this pressure is getting worse both formally and informally.
Some of us can’t “live with” mask bans. They put our literal lives at risk.

Imagine telling a disabled person to give up a mobility aid? Or any other medical device?

This is wrong. People should have disability orgs backing them on this.
