Got food poisoning from Fogo De Chao. Puked out the side of a moving cab along beautiful Copacabana Beach. The most exotic place I'll probably ever puke!

The chill in the air is a welcome respite for Izzy's northern bones. A few months when he doesn't wake soaked in sweat nor cook himself red in his leathers sounds ducking heavenly. He does notice that Bonnet starts wearing more and more layers as the days get cooler, and he feels something about it.

“There now,” Fang sighs, a smile in his voice as he admires the collar sitting proud around Stede’s neck. Blue leather, very choice. And the gold tag jingles prettily, a diamond shape for a special boy. Fang pats Stede’s freckled shoulder, meeting his eyes in the mirror. “You’ll never get lost again, will you?” Stede can’t hide his excitement. Yes, there’s a big, beautiful man pressed against his naked back, but the jewellery, well… a finely crafted trinket has always had this effect on him. “No, won’t go astray now,” he grins, turning the tag this way and that in the lamplight. “And what a dainty piece of engraving this is. You’ve outdone yourself. You know, I once had a signet ring— Oh!“ The tap of Fang’s finger against the side of his nose is gentle enough, but it takes the wind out of Stede’s sails all the same. Fang is smiling down, fondly strict. “Ah-ah,” he tuts. “What did we agree?” A blush is working its way up Stede’s neck. This is real, then. This is happening. He’d expected the collar to be the strangest part, but there’s something vertiginous in the way Fang waits for him to answer. Patient, serenely in control. Stede swallows, fingertips nervously toying with the stitching in the buttery blue leather. “Good puppies don’t, erm…” His resolve falters. What if Fang thinks this is silly? What if he’s about to pull away his kindly mask and laugh long and loud in Stede’s face? “Good puppies…” Fang provides evenly, “don’t yap.” Stede feels his mouth about to betray him, but claps it shut before all the yes sirs, understoods, and absolutelys have a chance to come tumbling out. They’ve discussed it all to the finest detail, but Stede feels as though he’s in a play he’s forgotten to rehearse. He wants to scuttle offstage with his tail between his legs, to run into this big man’s arms and allow himself to be protected, to be led away to where it’s safe and quiet and uncomplicated. The collar is jingling. With a flush of shame, Stede realises he’s shaking. He sees his own eyes widen in the mirror as panic threatens to take him, but Fang is here - solid, dependable Fang - and his huge, gentle hands are sinking into Stede’s fur. Thick fingers scritch his scalp while the other hand delves low to pet his pubic hair, appreciative and slow. Low murmurs of praise steady Stede; the touches anchor him to this room where the only responsibility is… “How about a cuddle?” comes Fang’s voice in Stede’s ear. “Would my good boy like that? Cuddle and a treat?” Stede’s bottom gives an enthusiastic wiggle. Yes, he’d like that very much.

My phone fully died last night while I'm dogsitting for my aunt. This morning I went and got it replaced but fuck if it didn't stress me our. Both the not having one for like 14 hours and then the ordeal of getting a new one (interacting in person at a store).

I'm in the mood for a particular style of fic. It's Steddyhands where Stede and Izzy gradually start falling for each other.

I have several of the classics (which I will reread) but I'm sure I've missed some.

As the nights get cooler, Izzy gets excited for one of his favorite things: Hot chocolate with marshmallows. It soothes and sweetens every day. It's his go-to gustatory stim, best enjoyed with a chilly breeze and a cozy sweater. It's even better when Stede brings it to him with a kiss on the brow.

On rainy nights, Izzy stays up. He doesn't trust his mind to keep his dreams safe. He doesn't want to risk it. The memories are bad enough.

Stede stays up with him, hand in hand. Sometimes he reads a story. Sometimes they sit in silence. All quiet, all gentle.
They weather those nights together.
