I think we have to consider that The US doesn't care that much about what we do. We can trade and make deals with whoever we want. Trade outside the US and China is going to grow faster than anywhere else over the next 10 years and we should be part of that.
Say what you will about Carney, but Trump seems to like him personally more than he likes Canada overall.

Trump: "it's a good thing for [Carney] to sign a trade deal—if you can get a deal with China you should do that"

Trade deals usually take at least a year to negotiate.

The US has correctly concluded that it's government is a threat to global security, and applied sanctions accordingly.

It's about time all these uninhabited islands started paying their way. Fuck these tropical birds for taking our jobs!

Should I be more worried about the tariffs or the fact that our biggest customer has chosen to punch itself in the balls, economically, as hard as it can?

Can we please decide if we are doing a trade war or not? I don't want yo have to cancel and reactivate my streaming services every 9 days. Who knew boycotting you largest trading partner would be this complicated.

The notion that Trump's tariffs are about migration and fentanyl is meant to give them a fig leaf of authority—most of the statutes that allow the president to impose tariffs unilaterally require that they be for one of a few specific purposes.

lol China's state media is sad about Bluesky because it's not an easy propaganda distribution channel like X (and Facebook)

I tried to buy shares in Bluesky and was very surprised to discover that it was a Canadian company. Turns out I confused it with a crypto platform that trades on the TSX SMH.

I literally got here yesterday, but so far feel the exact same way. Twitter was turning me into an angrier person.
It's crazy how much more I enjoy browsing Bluesky vs twitter.
Twitter makes me mad, angry, anxious, and depressed.
Bluesky just makes me smile
Call it an echochamber all you want, it's way less stressful
