Real talk, have seen such a massive shift in the way we talk about economics that people are utterly convinced we need to start implementing the most insane austerity measures, but no inkling why or how they got this idea. Meanwhile, Trump spent upwards of $10M of taxpayer money golfing this week.
I also can’t believe people are falling for the idea that we can’t afford to hire people for administrative jobs. A single cruise missile costs $1M. We’re not out of money, we have stupid priorities as a country which is why no other country spends what we do

I just can’t get over this. It’s not overzealous defence of Israeli positions. It’s not collateral damage from going after Hamas. It’s just murdering people who need food. The Israelis don’t even seem to try to justify it.

During the Harper years so many government services basically didn't work because they were so under-staffed. It took months to get EI claims processed, renewing a passport took forever, etc. and under Trudeau the government staffed up so that those services worked better. That was good!
The relative size of the civil service is still smaller than it was in the 1980s.
