I know this sounds extreme. It is.

I know I sound overly alarmist. I don't think I am.

Trump is enacting a well thought out plan so he and his allies can rule forever.

But it's not too late to stop them. We can peacefully and forcefully mobilize now. We have the power.

We aren't on the verge of an authoritarian takeover. We are in the middle of it.

But I worry people don't see the whole scheme. They just pay attention to each new daily outrage. So I went to the Senate floor to explain Trump's plan.

Here's a 🧵of the speech. It's important.

WSJ: President Trump believed his Truth Social post demanding prosecutions of James Comey and other political foes was a private message to his attorney general, and "and was surprised to learn it was public."

Anti-Semitism has no place in our city, and the hate speech found at Temple Israel this morning is unacceptable. Minneapolis cannot, and will not tolerate violence against our communities, and we stand with our Jewish neighbors.

The historically volatile Texas grid was entirely stable this summer, despite extreme temperatures. Grid operators never once had to ask Texans to conserve energy or shut off their air conditioners.

Why? Solar & batteries. Want a stable grid? Try solar & batteries.
Solar and batteries had a record-setting, grid-stabilizing summer in…
Solar has set 17 power generation records in Texas so far this year, shoring up the grid alongside batteries as some gas plant developers step back.

Have there ever been any problems with overzealous greedy business leaders booking the same massive transactions multiple times across their opaque, interlocking business entities?

Dear neighbor,

I’m excited to share that the City of Minneapolis has installed a new NARCAN® vending machine in Ward 9. You can find this new vending machine in Phillips at Fire Station 5 (2700 Bloomington Ave South). 1/

Yeah this is where RCV can get weird. Hampton's path to his best personal finish is probably not the same path as the highest likelihood of defeating Frey. (Right?)

Stephen Miller: "Eventually elections don’t carry the day because violence beats votes… When we see a muscular response from the federal government, it’s because we’re not going to let violence beat votes."

Is he implying federal intervention determines political legitimacy, not ballots or courts?

I am reading Cat’s Cradle for the first time. Vonnegut, as ever, is brilliant, hilarious, and prescient. This passage sent me. #protein
Excerpt from Cat’s Cradle, page 26:

"He said science was going to discover the basic secret of life someday," the bartender put in. He scratched his head and frowned. "Didn't I read in the paper the other day where they'd finally found out what it was?"
"I missed that," I murmured.
"I saw that," said Sandra.
"About two days ago."
"That's right," said the bartender.
"What is the secret of life?" I asked.
"I forget," said Sandra.
"Protein," the bartender declared. "They found out something about protein."
"Yeah," said Sandra, "that's it."

Please note that Kai Ryssdal knows a thing or three about the military and how it’s supposed to function:
After graduating from college, Ryssdal spent eight years in the United States Navy, first flying a Northrop Grumman E-2 Hawkeye[7] from the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt, and later as a Pentagon staff officer. After earning his master's degree, Ryssdal joined the U.S. Foreign Service, serving in Ottawa, Canada and Beijing, China.[1][6]
