Corporations are relying on shame to stop folks from fighting to keep porn around. An amazing way to fight against this stuff is to simply not be ashamed of sex and sexuality; even if you think some of it is "cringe". You'll do yourself a favor by eliminating your shame about sex.
When you fight censorship, you're also fighting for things you might not exactly like and it's something you gotta get comfortable with. I promise you, the fetish game you turn your nose up at is NOT YOUR ENEMY. You must think of the bigger picture, you must not fall for the bait.

If you'll let me venture a guess as to how the HORSES story is going to evolve, it'll gain enough traction to push Steam to make an exception just like Chaos;Head NoAH and everyone will rejoice for a day, and then it's back to forgetting that this issue is systematic and affects hundreds of games

I can confirm, I'm always happier about a specific work before I interact with whatever counts as its "fandom". Which sucks because ideally culture and art are things to be shared, and exchanging impressions on them is supposed to be enriching and dare I say, the whole point of engaging with them

They've done this to games you can buy at Walmart for your Nintendo Switch. Some random guy at Valve can decide to shitcan the work of dozens of people because he finds it weird, and all he has to do is point to Valve's opaque content policy - they don't even have to tell you why it was banned!

LRP: The most insane thing about Valve's content review system is that if they arbitrarily flag your game for having objectionable content, that's it. It's permanently and irrevocably banned from Steam, you're not allowed to make revisions to it, it's blacklisted forever, fuck you.

the whole "don't play the game, just watch a video on youtube that will explain its story to you" is so disheartening because the issue of accessibility is genuinely really important but it's always just people who want to be spoon-fed nicely quantifiable information
