For folks who received a fundable score on an NIH grant, but did not receive funding given the shift in federal priorities, how have you listed this on your CV? #askingforafriend #NIH

Relatedly, we will have two searches for new faculty in the Psychological Clinical Science Program this fall - one at the Assistant Professor level and another at Associate or Full Professor level. Ads forthcoming.

Last year, I submitted a successful grant application the month I got married. This year, I’m submitting a grant application the month that I’m closing on a house. Hoping this is a good sign 🤞🤞🤞

Thank you @srcdorg.bsky.social for so many amazing talks! From Dr. Chetty’s presentation on the fading American dream to Dr. Fish’s conversation on Indigenous approaches to developmental science, my first #SRCD2025 was a blast!

I will be there giving a talk on momentary mindfulness and ER for teens! I’d love to be added. Thanks for putting this together!

Today, we’re honoring the lives of the 32 Hokies who were tragically taken from their loved ones and the Virginia Tech community on April 16, 2007.

On the 2025 Day of Remembrance, we're honoring the lasting impact they continue to have on our world. #VTWeRemember 🧡
The April 16 Memorial is pictured in front of Burruss Hall against a blue sky.

Weird week to travel to the NIH, but it was so refreshing to be there with some amazing others pilot grant awardees! 👩‍🔬🔬

➡️ NIH grants in '23 included $26B of direct costs and $9B of F&A = 26% of total costs or 35% of total direct costs. These are LOW overhead rates for any R&D-intensive industry. Academic biomedical research is an efficient bargain.

➡️ Every $1 of NIH support generates ~$2.50 of economic activity.
