It’s the way the word is said that can bother me. If you say “spice” with disgust or a judgmental tone, like you’re better than those who read smut, I despise you and your literary snobbery.

Most people think autistic burnout is just exhaustion.

It’s not.

It’s years of masking, unmet needs, and contradictions your body can’t hold anymore.

It’s what happens when survival becomes your baseline.

You don’t “push through” burnout - you rebuild from it.

You’re not.

You’re burning out - from masking, overthinking, and trying to earn safety in a system that withholds it.

You can recover.

The no-sleep-muscle-pain sucks, but at least insomnia came with company and a movie. Now and Then was really sweet and sad. I'm glad I watched it.
