I mean, this is not disingenuous so much as a flat out lie. Either the Home Secretary does not understand the asylum system and restrictions placed upon asylum seekers who can support themselves, keeping in mind most asylum seekers are not in hotels anyway, or she is outright lying to the public. 7/
