I’ve been accused of lying on Threads and I think that’s really funny.
December 9, 2025 at 2:39 AM
I don’t claim to be smarter than anyone else but threads is finely tuned to reward rage bait engagement posts above anything else.

Even the posts that I’d ideologically agree with are written in boilerplate fashion designed for virality. I don’t like it. It is annoying. And misleading.

5:16AM Austin,
Will let the truck warm up before starting for Abilene. I predict at least 8 fuel stops before my return.

I don’t even know where or who to ask so they can tell me I’m wrong.
I have a bad feeling about the drought conditions of the valley because of the saharan dust that still blankets over everything.

It rained after all of that and just weighed it all down. Everywhere I go it’s just dirt.

I don't think we have split hairs with Elon. He fits the profile of someone attracted to the Nazi political style and he's an idiot.

lmao no, TikTok users are not moving to Bluesky. They would literally rather learn Mandarin than learn how to read a feed of text posts. This is a millennial retirement home.

Getting all your news off tiktok, while convenient, was always a recipe for disaster.
Does not deserve to be banned.
I don’t think any app should have held that much information power, even twitter.
Unfortunately the solutions involved political engagement. I’ll never be convinced we voted enough.

Outraged by Jan 6, he spent two years getting inside the top ranks of militias like the Oath Keepers. He was stunningly successful. He penetrated a new generation of militia leaders, which included doctors, cops & government attorneys.

This is his story. www.propublica.org/article/ap3-...

Outraged by the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, a wilderness survival trainer spent years undercover climbing the ranks of right-wing militias. He didn’t tell police or the FBI. He didn’t tell family or friends....

I remain on twitter because I never updated it.

I never turn on auto updates for my devices and so I’ve still got the bird and the old UI for twitter. Can’t really see what’s trending but ehh. Honestly it’s been fine for me for all this time. Hoping to somehow outlast that shithead.

Can’t even romanticize driving around with the windows down in the valley anymore. All the damned construction for parking lots to restaurants plus the lack of rain make every gust of wind carry the ghost of the dust bowl into my mouth, as a treat.
