Given the headlines about Alex Pretti, I think it’s important to remind people that tens of thousands (if not more) ICE observers are in the Twin Cities and the vast majority are making it home every night.

The violence is meant to intimidate, but they can’t go after a whole community.
Guys maybe the number one obstacle to organizing here in Minneapolis is the unfounded fear that if you get involved, DHS will put you on a list and assassinate you. It leads people to avoid organizing or act in ways that are completely detrimental to organizing. Please please do not spread that fear

A reminder that ICE hasn’t slowed down in Minneapolis at all.

Outside of Minnesota, it might feel like everything has changed since Alex Pretti’s murder. But ICE hasn’t actually lost any power and they’re continuing to terrorize our communities.

Before ICE came to Maine, I made clear their provocative actions have no place here.

Then, I demanded to meet with the President to tell him that to his face.

Meanwhile, Susan Collins has spent the week pushing to give the agency more funding without any accountability.

The killing of Alex Pretti and the grotesque lying was an overreach by the administration. They've paid a price and had to pull back a bit. But it's when there's some disarray that the democratic opposition needs to intensify the offensive, and turn a marginal tactical success into a major victory.

Reminder that, as of the latest reports, Liam Ramos is still in prison in Texas - now for 5 days.

His parents are legal asylum seekers with no criminal record.

It's not quite the most pressing issue at the moment, but the American people absolutely have a right to know the names of the federal officials who shot and killed a man peacefully protesting, who was on his knees, prone in the street when they shot him in the back.

Bovino is just the patsy - a noxious and odious fall guy. Stephen Miller is the architect and prime mover of the whole thing. Everything they do is at his direction - often after his threats. As long as he runs policy in the WH, nothing will change no matter how many Bovinos come and go.

The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call “symbolic compliance.”

That’s when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.

In America — and in Maine — we don’t believe in secret arrests or secret police.

Maine people know what good law enforcement looks like. They abide by strict rules and training, and they don’t wear masks.

The reckless actions we’ve seen ICE turn to have no place here.

I'm not intimidated by Trump, and Maine isn't either. That's why I've demanded a meeting with him, so I can tell him to his face to get ICE out of our state.

Maine needs a Senator who will stand up to the President — I've done it before, and I'm not afraid to do it again.

Days after ICE murdered a young man in Minnesota, Susan Collins used her power and seniority to call for the continued funding of the agency without any accountability.

Now is not the time for concern without courage –– it's time to stand up for what's right.

Gregory Bovino must also be fired.

The party that has spent unlimited resources and energy getting states to pass laws to allow citizens to openly carry loaded weapons anywhere - now believes that exercising this right is permission for law enforcement to murder you.

Honestly, how dumb do they think we are?

I appreciate those out there protesting at great risk to their lives however i think the nation needs to grind this economy to a dead stop.
It's something everyone can do safely. No spending on ANYTHING but absolute necessities.
I understand some shut ins can not do this but very many of us can.
