It's unfortunate that this needs to be said, but to stay alive, listen to scientific consensus (on health, climate, environment, etc.) and ignore the conspiracy theorists.

I'm disappointed there aren't any "protest Trump" or "protest Musk" signs at this demonstration.

I'm really confused. If there's a contract, how can DOGE cancel it?

Because it doesn't benefit the Oligarchy financially, it's considered unnecessary.
The entire permanent staff of the Division of Environmental Health Science and Practice was laid off. This division addresses issues such as asthma and air pollution, climate change and health, childhood lead poisoning, and cancer clusters.
